Online Education
The Texas Department of Public Safety (TDOT) allows driver’s ed to be completed outside of the classroom if the course is part of the approved parent-taught driver education program. This program, also known as PTDE, helps students and parents connect on the important topics of driving safety and ensures qualified adult guidance during driving hours.
How it Works: Each student and parent is required to request approval to complete the parent-taught driver education by completing a TDLR application. Once you have been approved, the TDLR will send you a parent taught driver’s ed packet filled with information and forms. Once your TDLR packet has been received, you will be able to begin the online course material necessary to apply for your first Texas learner’s license and driver’s license.
Adult Driver Education
Adult Six Hour Course (18-24 years)
The State of Texas requires that people 18-24 years of age must take a six-hour driver’s ed course before going to DPS for their driver’s license.
This class will provide you with the paperwork for your permit. With this you will be able to set up a road test at the DPS, which you must pass in order to receive your driver’s license.
Adult Private Lessons
Whether you’re a new driver out on the road, or an old driver looking to refresh your driving skills, private lessons are convenient for anyone. Get personalized lessons with a patient and proven instructor.
